Recommended Use of Options and Attributes#
Per-video settings always take priority over the global settings on the ARVE settings page. You can set these per-video options on the block — either in the Block sidebar or in the Embed Video dialog when you use the arve shortcode.
It is recommended to configure the global options — such as Mode, Maximal Video Width, and Autoplay — the way you want most, if not all, of your videos to appear. Use per-video settings only when you want a specific video to look different from the general ones.
Example: If Mode is set to Lazyload on the settings page, but you want to show one video in Lightbox mode, change the Mode for that video in the ARVE block or the arve shortcode. There is no need to declare these attributes for every single video.
Block Editor (Gutenberg)#
ARVE will automatically takes over the YouTube and the other embed blocks. If you want special settings per video you can use the ARVE Block.
The “Video Embed (ARVE)” Block supports all the ARVE settings for individual videos in the sidebar. Be sure to set the defaults on the settings page to there is no need to set everything for each video, only what is needed.
Classic Editor#
Embedding Videos in classic editor works like this:
